Something you're partial to? Otherwise, don't think you can improve on it worth the cost to change it out. The red oil even matches your paint job. |

I have the Force intake on my X1 and I like it. Thats what I'm looking for for my sportster. It has the ham can on it but it hits my leg. |

The Forcewinders come with a "rain sock" that is supposed to do a decent job keeping water out unless its really dumping. Living in the desert I can't recall if I've ever actually used mine. I keep it under the seat just in case (supposed to be more restrictive with it on). Dunno if the Big Bore intake (I believe that's what the first one pictured is) is a K&N style or paper element though. If paper, probably not a good idea to get wet. |

thx for the replies / input. i think that mine is a paper filter, that was one of my concerns was getting it wet if caught in the rain. my other concern is that its mounted by the rubber coupling only, its kinda weather cracked, so it will need replacing/repaiaring. maybe some type of a brace will be needed. |

I have a forcewinder on my 99S3. I like the looks of it, but it makes a loud 'chuffing' noise when those big pistons are sucking in air. I think the stock breadbox might be a lot quieter, but I have never tried one. |

"...my other concern is that its mounted by the rubber coupling only..." The elbow and the bracket is usually one piece and mounts on the intake manifold with three bolts. Sorry just noticed yours is a totally different design. (Message edited by kalali on April 04, 2011) |

Kilroy, not sure of the make, its just a performance mushroom filter from a car performance shop. |

I have a giant Edelbrock A/C that I used On my S2. It flowed nicely in air and aesthetics if I do say so myself lol.

BTW my friend welded an adapter plate onto it to make it fit my bike. It was originally for a 4 barrel carb. |
