So in the States, you can just buy any bike you want and ride it? Is there no criteria for passing a test, and working up to a bigger bike like we have in the UK?

Nope - no rules about small cc starter licenses. You can hop onto a huge Goldwing and take your test after a day of practice, if you are so inclined.

i dont see a problem really... im responsible enough to respect the bike and what not, im not gonna go past 60 mph... im not gonna race im not going to do crazy stuff i know what a clutch is and when to pull it just in case and i dont slam down the trottle.. im just gonna be country road rideing hehe just sayin when i rode it in the neighborhood doing 45 i didnt see a reason why i would have to get a smaller bike.

No problem - just chalk one up on the side of taking personal responsibility! :-)

Found the fender in the garage for Nick, What I need is help to make sure this is the one he needs. When I bought my bike the guy gave me a bunch of parts with it, As my bike has the later style swingarm I am not sure if this one is from the original or the later swingarm??? Thanks for your help, Chuck.

Nick tried to send this to your e-mail address about 30 min. ago and it got kicked back so I'll put it here???? Hello Nick, I found the fender in the garage. You had said you would like to fit the plate to it? This fender is the type or has been modified that the plate will not go on it. Here is a picture of it and if you still want it it's yours, I also want to post a picture of it on the forum to be sure it will fit for you, My bike has a later type of swingarm on it and I don't know if this went on the original or the later one, But I am almost certain it goes on the type you have. Like I say it yours and I hope it will fit, You can buy the kit to fit your plate and rear tail light to the underside of the tail section from American sportbike, They have them or you can also find them on e-bay, Take care and let me know what you think. Take care Chuck.

That's a late cast style swingarm fender. If you still have the boxed steel swingarm it won't work

Fender above is an X1 part(the squarish back gives it away), made to fit the cast aluminum swingarm. Fenders are not interchangeable between the cast and tubular steel swingarms.

"and do i put it for the 88-03 XL 1200?"

YES, or Buell if they list it specifically, but what you posted above is what is on my Dynojet kit box.

rofl its ok charlie it would have been nice and was nice of you to offer it, would have been awsome to have the fender on no matter how *gay* it looks lol where you to live in long beach? my wife was born and raised in long beach hehe,

Guell, there is some good country back roads near my house that is perfect for riding i think i mean i never rode them but looking at them when im driving my SUV seems like it would be a fun time, im going to buy that carb rebuild kit tomorrow, harley called and said they have one for 40 dollars so i think ill go with that one if it has everything i need, and hopefully it will fix this bike. BTW how rare is this bike i have? i have never seen one before the one i bought, i think ill keep this bike forever! i love it and i barely driven it yet lol im wondering how much powerful it is after it is running like its suppose to run.

sorry to keep posting hehe, but can someone send me to a good place to buy some hand grips? the throttle hand grp seems like its tearing or something maybe just wear its not noticeable unless you get right on it, also some foot pegs, the one with the clutch keeps getting turned upside down where the metal ball is showing thanks. , btw been so busy havent got pics yet lol will come soon!

p.s. If you all bought this S1 and i suspect its been sitting for 3+ years, what else would you all replace on it just because its been sitting for so long? so many parts and stuff dont know which ones to get or what to save money for ect.. thanks!
