I saw this on the LA Craigslist this AM -
Does anybody here have this for sale?
Basti will probably chime in once he sees this!
I'm afraid to ask the price, not sure I need or want one, plus I don't know the number for 911 - I'll bet it's 'heart attack' pricey!

I missed a repossessed RR1200 for $6,000 in a Bern, KS bank that had no clue what they had . . . I am still ticked.

Great bike.

I've got a photo here of me cruising about on one in my younger days.

Well it says $1.
Seems reasonable.

Seems kinda sketchy to me. I mean if you want to sell a high dollar item you usually provide nice clear pics from several angles, and info about the item. This is just a single shot that could be from anywhere on the net, looking for a sucker to meet with cash. If anyone is tempted be sure to play it safe.

I drove 1000 miles one time to buy a Battletwin only to find that the condition of the bike was not what was represented to me. Kinda like some people on this site.

The owner of the dealership was very embarrassed about the whole deal. I was very angry, to say the least, but stayed out of jail.

Perhaps the seller thinks that the right buyer knows what they go for, has the money, and the desire to obtain one.

I just can't imagine setting yourself up for the kind of stupid inquiries, scammers and others who you would attract with a pretty simplistic ad like that one: one lousy photo, and a $1 price tag.

Or perhaps...his wife demanded that he try to sell it. This is his attempt.

Craigslist requires "some dollar amount for a price" by private sellers, doesn't it? Most use $1 to meet the requirement, especially for stuff wanted. Looks like the plastic bag on the front has all the new bike paperwork. Could be a zero miler. Has he answered anyone's inquiry?

I suspect you are correct. It pops up, but I'm now guessing it's from a cookie.

Here's the response to my email:
