No, I used ABS cement brushed on over the cracked area plus a couple of inches around it. Worked the cement into the crack. Then laid fibre glass cloth over the ABS cement. Brushed on a second layer of cement followed by another layer of fibre glass cloth. I worked the final layer of cloth into the ABS cement with the ABS cement brush. Repeat on the inside or outside of the bag depending on where you started.

The back of the bags are molded ABS. The ABS cement softens the plastic so you can stick two pipes together, but also welds the crack and allows you reinforce the area with the fibre glass. I picked up the cement and the fibre glass cloth at ACE hardware. I repaired mine in the campground at Sturgis a few years ago. No cracks since then.

None on mine, been about a year now. I followed the write up Al did way back - you can't use the resin you can buy at Home Depot - go to a marine supply shop instead. I forget the different types but they're in Al's write up. Make sure you scuff up the bag inner well with sandpaper to help it adhere.

I used the same process that Yo_barry detailed to fix the crack in my tail section. Got all the supplies at TAP Plastics.

Still holding strong after 3 years.

I went to a surf board shop that repairs surf boards. They did a nice job.
