Also has anybody any ideas on how to redo a V&H baffle?   96s2t Posted on Saturday, March 26, 2011 - 01:15 pm:        Drill out the pop rivets in the end of the can, remove it , repack it and then re-rivet it. Both of my V&H pipes have allen head bolts on the outlet end that i unscrew and repack.. I welded up a new baffle out of thick car exhaust baffleing when my orginal V&H baffle destroyed itself. I have repacked it a few times now...you get that when you use Pink Batts wall insulation...   96s2t Posted on Sunday, March 27, 2011 - 01:02 am:        I have had the V&H on for over 70,000 miles and only repacked it twice. The aluminum can was held together with pop rivets. I used heavy white motocross packing and packed it tight toward the back of the can. I like the sound, performance and durability of it. The carbon fiber can is a little bit more fragile but does sound deeper.   Desertguy Posted on Sunday, March 27, 2011 - 03:22 am:        Ok... I am going to try the "stove rope" method. (Wind the inner cage with stove rope from top to bottom and secure with wire at each end.) I will post results when I get it all together. By the way does anyone have any ideas on what to use for packing once I get the baffle wrapped? I have heard all kinds of things like pink house wool, steel wool, stainless steel wool, basalt wrap (wonder where I can get that???), etc., etc.   96s2t Posted on Sunday, March 27, 2011 - 01:21 pm:        I used repacking material sold for dirtbike exhaust systems. Available everywhere. Some people have used fireproof stovepipe rope available at hardware stores.
