Just picked up an 00' X1. Had sat for awhile before I bought it. I'm noticing that at a certain throttle position it stumbles/hesitates. If I hold it there it gets real bad sometimes. I can crack open the throttle & work through it. Thought it was bad gas (put fresh in), looked at the screaming eagle plugs & they were white. Replaced the plugs & got the same result. Thoughts?

Intake leak would be my first guess, especially if it has a sporadic idle or other related symptoms. If you have the software to do it, resetting the TPS might have an effect and it would be easy/no cost (definitely the first thing to check).

Thanks. It has no sporadic idle after it warms up. Runs strong everywhere else except that position.

That position across rev range? TPS reset if it's just that position, but if it also coincides with rpm - lean spot in your fuel mapping? I don't own a X1 but my stock XB has an unpleasant rough spot/stumble just before 3K and it's only a little better warm than cold.

To keep it simple, as was Fox's suggested intake leak - if it's stock, or mostly stock it may benefit from some adjustment with your ECM Spyware. Or a upgraded ECM. Get a cable or a buddy with one. Both can generally be found on this site

It shouldn't have screamin' chicken plugs in there.
There are specific plugs for our engines with some magic heat range or tiger blood or something in them.

That's most likely not your issue though.

To me, it sounds like your TPS itself is bad.

All the TPS is is a potentiometer.
It has three wires and you can measure it with an ohm meter.
Sounds like the TPS might be contaminated with a spot of corrosion inside or something.

I think you can buy one by itself but when I replaced my throttlebody, it came with one already installed.
