So I have been battling with an air leak (accompanied by slight oil misting in my manifold) ever since I've owned this bike but after this winter the problem has gotten worse. as a side not i have successfully done the intake seals on tubers and Harley's many times so i'm more than confident in my ability to do it correctly. I'll give you some back ground. when i first got the bike the rear cylinder had a head gasket leak past the oil channel that pushed oil out onto my fins. this winter i decided to replace the head gasket. when replacing the head gasket i noticed that the rear intake valve where oil soaked(not terribly soaked but wet) but i didnt put too much thought into since i had to ride back to tucson to go to school and had very little time to work. in less than 300 miles the gasket was leaking again and i still had an intake leak but with more oil in my manifold now. I'm currently using the PO's breather set up which consists of 5/16 hose that runs all the way to the back of the bike. My only thought is that the head gasket leak is creating excess pressure in the oil channel and top end. this accompanied with a not so free flowing breather set up and bad valve guides could push oil into my intake and cause my air leak. My bike is my baby and my only mod of transport and i need to get her running in tip top shape so Any input would be greatly appreciated. | ||

If there is oil on the intake valve, I think it has to be coming from a bad valve stem seal. If the bike had been sitting for a long while in its past, the seals can dry up. | ||

I was thinking the seal idk I put guides. ether way I'm still curious if i have one problem or 3. I was kinda looking with some one with more experience to tell me if I'm wrong. |
