Been havin a bit of difficulty finding a forcewinder intake for my X1, the FI is a pain in the neck for that, to my understanding i have to have an intake that is specific to the fuel injected model. correct? theres no nifty way spacer or anything that will allow me to put on whatever i want? im pretty hell bent on the forcewinder since im 6'5" and all, cant afford to lose any clearance for my knee.
also being the juvenille delinquent that i am i would like to make my bike louder than it already is, for cheap, it has a vance and hines slip on attached now, what other things can be done aside from spending tons of money on a race setup or a d&d?

Thanks
Rich

I'm using a forcewinder intake on my S3, it was originally for fuel injection. i switched to a carb and it bolted right on. The only thing i had to change was the mounting screws. The cv carb uses standard thread screws, the fi has metric.

I am using an intake elbow off a carbed bike and i just put on a K&N filter on it. It works great and all i had to do is use a different gasket. Because there is a notch on the elbow where it mounts for either an air jet or something like it on the carb models. I just made sure it was sealed by the gasket.

+1 on what everybody else said. You just need to find a spot for the Intake Air Temperature sensor if the filter does not have the "extra" hole. I have mine mounted on the frame right next to the ECU connector.

When i had the motor built by dan at NRHS he drilled the elbow so it could mount there. But since then i bought the filter that has the hole built into it for the air temp sensor. And i slid the filter farther onto the elbow to cover the hole up.

so i found an old posting on here saying that anything that fits a 40mm CV will work. wondering if i can get the spacer from american sportbike and mount whatever i need/can afford onto it?

http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/A5030FI.html

is this the missing link? haha

also, has anybody used the forcewinder race exhaust?

http://www.useforce.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PR OD&Store_Code=UF&Product_Code=UF-7028-01&Category_ Code=BL-ES

and who can i talk to about remapping my ECM?
the guy i bought it from had it tuned to get better fuel economy, i want more power. it has race ECM, but getting ECMSpy is kind of a pain, the website seems a little shady to me and i dont know how much it costs.

thanks,
Rich

The force exhaust makes good power, is very loud, and is prone to cracking apart.

Guell - what sorts of cracking occurs on the Force?
I think I'll have one in a few days, just want a heads up.

I had the V&H muffler on my bike a few years ago and it broke the rear mount and eventually the front mount also cracked (the triangular piece going from pipe to exhaust hanger)
