I need help tracking down a particular bolt. Does anyone know the part number for the long bolt that goes into the transmission just forward of the shifter? This bolt and the shifter itself hold the lower chin spoiler in place. Mine is stripped and I want to re-install the chin fairing. The bike is a 00' X1.

I purchased this digital 2000 - 2001 Buell X1 Lightning OEM Factory Parts Catalog (#99571-01Y), is the same as your dealer is using. all service manuals as a pdf file / files on CD or as a direct instant download. Cost about $30 . Instant and really handy.

The part number for that bolt is AA0538.1CZ

Hope this helps.

Thanks! I do have a paper version of the parts catalog but for some reason I was having trouble finding this part.

I have a related question. If you remove the chin spoiler, do you need bolts to take the place of the chin spoiler bolts on the primary?

Will the primary cover leak without those bolts?

It will eventually leak oil. Use a spacer until you can get a shorter bolt & Screw.
These fixing points take the pressure from wind on the chin faring, hence hefty bolts ; without the faring no pressure.same tension on all bolts on the primary case.
