I wish I could take a picture, but it looks like my shock was manufactured upside down or something. With the hose exiting up and the shaft at the rear of the bike as the instructions state, my rebound adjuster is facing the muffler and the right hand pull rod (long slender rod along the length of the shock) is down instead of up. Are these shocks twistable somehow? I couldn't get mine to twist at all... | ||

Nope, mine is the same way, hose on top and rebound adjuster on the muffler side. The pull rod closest to the muffler is at about the 7 o'clock position, and the other is at 1 o'clock, sitting at the rear wheel and facing the front of the bike. | ||

My hose is up, adjuster pointed away from the muffler, pull rods (looking from the front of the bike) at 11 and 5. Tough to see, but it's just a snip from a scenic shot (bike is my '95 S2):  | ||

I want to say, if you unhook it from the swingarm (take the bolt out), you can pivot the rods/cage/swingarm section around. It's tight, but can be done. The front rod plate will pivot around the forward section of the shock. | ||

My pull rods are opposite of that picture there. My settings feel pretty darn good where they are, so I think I'll leave it. Now if it would only warm up enough to clean the bike...  Nice shiny shock, dusty as hell everywhere else. |
