Just wondering if anyone had any experience with the corbin gunfighter seat on an X1? I would like to improve longer rides and up the cool factor...ha! I had a corbin on a older honda years ago and it greatly improved the 3+ hr rides.

Thanks. I posted in the used parts looking, so if somebody has one to get rid of PM me.

I've had Corbin's on several bikes, including the 91 RS with S2 body that I had. Very comfortable and high quality. I've heard horror stories about their customer service though, so if you get one, make sure it doesn't need to go back to them for any reason!
I'll watch out in my area for one for your bike.

I have one on mine. It came with the bike so I cannot compare it directly with a stock seat. However, I find it comfortable for 100 mile stretches. Tolerable between 100-200 miles & I haven't yet done in excess of 200 miles without getting off and walking around for a bit! I'm 6'1", 195 Lbs and have recently added 1" bar risers to my bike.(I have a bad back)
I hope this helps...

Well, you are almost forced to get off the bike and walk around every ~150 miles or so to get gas...

I've managed to stretch to about 200 miles twice. Mine returns c50 MPG. I don't recommend it but it was late, I was cold & I couldn't be a***d to stop!

Cool, sounds like it would be a good investment if I plan to keep the bike. Getting old sucks but its nice to have a older bike to keep me company: ) I love my X1. Guess I will keep an eye out for a used one for a few months, if nothing comes up guess new is my only option. Not a real rush as we have a few feet of snow here in Canada.

Thanks AF226

Checked out the above suggested motorbikesaddles website. Nice looking product. Does anyone here have a seat by these people. If so how is it?

I have several and they are very nice and the shop owner is nuts about Buells.

Corbin seats are no longer made for the X1. I ordered one last year and a week later they told me their mold was damaged and they no longer can make the seat unless they get another X1. I offered to send them my seat and they told me they needed the whole bike and canceled my order. I now have a Buell select seat that is great.

foximus, its the ss header that was on the bike when i got it. i think its the stock header. anyway i just took it to my buffer and polished it. it buffed out real easy to a chrome look, then the engine heat did the rest. i like it better than the chrome look.

I've never liked any Corbin seat that I've ever come across. My feeling is that they're made for people with wide, soft asses.

Are you implying that my butt is somewhat less than taut these days?

Shoot me a PM if you get a chance.

Well, I have precisely ZERO ass padding, and love the corbins I have for my S2 (one solo, one two-up). Fit like the proverbial glove.

I also have one on my S1W...and as mentioned above, it's like sitting on a plank. Maybe I need to ride it more to break it in. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to keep that one.

I bought my X1 with the Corbin already fitted and I've tried both it and the standard seat. No comparison. The Corbin is outstanding and I've done a few 1200 kilometre days. It confirms my theory that the shape is more important than the density of the foam. Firm is good. I also have one on my Norton Commando and love that too.

I have one on my X-1, nice seat and great folks to deal with, the seat provides a little more rear support than the stock seat and is well made. Inserts look good with carbon fiber pieces on bike.
The X-1 in the pic on their website is mine.
