It looks like I will be moving to Portland, OR soon so I want to get ready to ride in the rain.

I want to find a good option for keeping fog off my face shield but I have never used any of the available products.

Pinlock inserts are reported to be very good but they are only available for Arai and HJC helmets and I have a Z1R Strike helmet that I don't want to replace it now.

Any ideas or advice would be most appreciated

I always had good luck with Fog City inserts. Pretty much universal fit and if they don't work for you, easily removable.

The site webbikeworld has reviews of 7 or 8 of them.

Only one of them works, Fogtech. I've used it. It works.

I have used the Fog City shield liners with great success. Then as I have gotten older I needed to start wearing glasses. I came across the Foggy not to be confused the Froggy. Works very well for both eye glasses and the face shield.

Heated face shield?

Wow! That sounds like a great idea.

Do you think I might be able to find one that would fit my ZR1 Strike helmets?

I use the same cloth that came with my ski goggles. It has something on it that coats the lens to prevent fogging. You can get one at any ski shop (also comes in a spray). I've also heard that polishing some soap into your lens works too (almost the same effect as RainX).

you can get a universal Pinlock kit, it comes with a drill bit to drill your own visor.

I have a pinlock insert on my KBC VR2 and love it. I will never have another Helmet without one.

My local HD dealer sells this stuff called "Fog Off", its a spray you apply to the visor and it prevents it from foggin up. Works great, I just reapply it every few months and then keep on riding.

Arai Profile Pinlock setup is close to $90.

That's a lot of dough, compared to a $6 bottle of anti-fog. I only need it 4 months a year.

Look at a Scorpion helmet, they have superior fog free lenses and are reasonably priced. Just sayin.

Scorpion lenses aren't fog free. I have noticed them to be more fog resistant than any other brand I've owned, but I still use the fog off on them.

A guy at my Buell dealer told me about this stuff, Cat Crap. He swore by it, and WebBikeWorld seems to have a good review of it, and it's cheap too!

I thought my visor was fogging up at first, but found out it was my glasses... Anyone have a tip for fog-proofing spectacles? : p
