So I think the stock mirrors on my 02 M2 are hideous on the bike. With the sharp angular lines on the bike why would they put these old ass looking round mirrors that stick up way to high off the bars?

What do you guys run instead of these things? I am thinking about some bar end mirrors, but I sometimes think they start to make the bike bars look like wings when you start adding on to the end of them. What have you seen someone else put on there that you thought "damn those are good looking"

I need to get pics, but I just put 1125CR mirrors on the M2L and deleted the signals down by the headlight (since they're in the mirrors). I've got those mirrors on my CR (duh) and the Ulysses, so I know I like the mirrors...and I love the LED signals in 'em. They'll flat-out BLIND oncoming traffic they're so bright! And, it gets the signal away from the headlight so they aren't washed out.

Definitely want to see pic's of that, Joe!

Otherwise, Brother's post listing covers the options pretty well.

Not the best picture, but they're all kinda crammed in around a car I'm trying to rebuild...

That's nice, and a far better, outboard position for them, so maybe you can see something beside your shoulder! Cool. If you keep the stock rear blinkers, you don't need to swap out for an LED relay, either, I bet.

Yes, I did have to swap the flasher. The stock flasher is set to alert the rider if even one bulb goes out - hence, changing the fronts to LED meant I had to change the flasher. But, I had one here anyway...for $19, I keep spares : ) My Uly is converted to LED, and so is my S1W. The S2 is still regular bulbs because it uses that PITA turn signal module...

Anyone ever mounted anything to the forks under the handlebars? Or maybe a stock location with a shortened mirror stem? something that doesn't sit as high as the stockers do?

i've got my mirror under the handlebar, but it's not mounted on the forks.
It's mounted on the clutch lever/ handlebars.
Works fine !!

I guess you could bend the stock mirror stem so it sits lower and more outboard.

Stock mirrors give you a good view of your shoulders.

Fork-mounted mirrors would give you a good view of...another part of your anatomy.

Heating and bending would be an option on the stockers...but not on the CR mirrors, they're STOUT.

That is definitely an interesting setup. Do you have any more pictures of those mirrors? Maybe something from a different angle?

You can run the Napoleon Barren Bar end mirrors in the down position (below the bars) and they work great. I ride mine in the down position when I'm solo, and move them up above the bars when I'm riding two-up. I love my Napoleons. I got them for American Sport Bike and they even sent them with the plugs for the empty holes where the stock mirrors went.
