Just got done painting M2 because of the notorious paint bubbleing up. The cheezy rubber fork stops have fallen off a couple of times, and I think its time for a better fix. I've installed an internal fork stop into a chopper I built for a guy some time ago, and was wondering if anyone has tried something like this on a tuber.
Also, was wondering what some of you have done to keep the seat corners from rubbing through the paint on the tank besides the clear tank sticker.

Lol, I just painted it, I don't want to cover half of my perdy paint with a bra...I'll probly just find some clear contact paper that's thick...

Clear shelf-paper (thick vinyl sticker) will probably work but I've never bother to try it since my tank is already toast in the area where the seat and tank meet. You will also need to cover up the staples under the seat with some felt or rubber strips and suitable glue. You could probably use the self-adhesive soft felt side of a Velcro strip.

Clear protectors will work. In my case, I have Crossroads bars, which causes me to lay down more on the tank. The zipper on my Vanson worked it's way through, so I opted for a bra.

Al at American Sport Bike has packs of the clear, cut-to-fit protector sheets. Good stuff.

For the fork bumpers on my S1W, I cut pieces of an automotive radiator hose and glued them in the right place on the frame with Gorilla Glue, after wiping down that section of frame with brake cleaner to remove any oils/residues.

Are any of those bras still available through the dealer?

I'm pretty sure they are all obsolete, but a dealer can do a search for ya and let you know if any other dealers still have em.

If I could get one of those for my 2002 M2, I'd buy it in a heartbeat for $40, even a nice used one. Anybody gots one?
