I have removed the forks with the intent of changing out the seals as they show a very slight weep. There is a hex head at the bottom of the fork tube that I am struggling with to remove. The sucker will not budge. I don't believe that the oil has been changed before 14K, so its prolly my technique. Any suggestions?

Since I almost there with the steering head bearings I'm planning to address them. Am I going to have any issues with the dust caps? I do have a manual.

When removing the lower bolt on forks, it's best to use an air impact wrench.

Yes use an impact gun with an allen bit. Make sure the bit is fully seated and the gun is going in the correct direction. It will come right off.
