I may have to store my fuel-injected S3T for up to a year or more so I don't want to leave any fuel in the tank, fuel pump or injection system.

It will be in a climate-controlled environment and the battery will be removed.

Can I simply run the bike out of fuel?

Is there a suitable product (like sea foam?)that should be put in in place of the fuel keep corrosion other bad things from happening in my fuel pump and injectors?

I don't mind going to some effort now if it will keep my bike in great shape until I can ride it again.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Dave

Running the gas out of a fuel injected bike isn't the best idea, and I'd think you'd risk drying out seals and o-rings in the process. What causes gasoline to gum up is moisture. If you drain the fuel, you'll inevitably leave gas droplets which will be exposed to the air which includes humitidy, condesnation, etc. This could glog up injectors or lines.

I'd run the tank close to empty, put some sta-bil in there, top it off (mixes the sta-bil around) and run it for a minute to make sure the additive gets to the injectors. Shut it down and call it a day.

Change your oil and filter also just prior to putting it away. Fresh oil will not have any crud or emulsification from having mixed with water.

A full gas tank with sta-bil or seafoam is better than empty, as it gives far less room for air and less surface area for anything to condense from what little air space is in there. But running the stabilizer into the inners of the engine is a must. Whether you keep that old stabilized gas in there when you start her back up is your call, but for storage, once the stabilizer is mixed in, you should be good.

Pull the plugs before you start it back up after its rest, squirt in a wee bit of Marvel Mystery oil or just plain 30 weight, just to smooth out the initial piston movement against the now-dry cylinder walls, and you bike will no doubt spring right back to life (as long as the battery is strong - suggest a battery tender).
I'm not sure about the tuber manuals, but the xb manuals have a nice how-to section on putting your bike to bed for storage.

+100. Store it full, not empty. Less airspace in the system = less room for condensation.

yeah full tank of gas stabil in the tank I hear is good, and I use corrosion protector spray, after I wash the bike I dry it and spray a whole can on heavy. I don't know what type the corrosion protector spray can is but I know you get it at the Harley dealers. I've been doing this to my X1R for going on 11 years now and it looks brand new
