Hey all.
Just got a new (to me) Buell S1 Lightning. Trying to figure what parts will fit it. For example
1. Seats - Would like a different, more comfy seat. M2?
2. Exhaust - What complete systems will fit this bike/ or what mufflers fit?
3. Wheel bearings. S1 only?

Thanks everyone.
Del (excited new Buell owner)

Not without welding on a new subframe. People say the Corbin is a bit better, but I suck it up and deal LOL YMMV

Depends, do you have an S1W header or stock? If S1W any 2.5 inch collector muffler should work. If it is just an S1 header a 2 inch muffler will work. American Sport Bike has a LARGE selection of these to look through. As for a Full system anything from 95-98 will fit.

3. Wheel bearings. S1 only?

Again, depends on your rims. PM and Cast aluminium are different bearings. I always suggest taking the bearings to a local bearing supply and getting better, cheaper bearings from them. They will be able to decifer the numbers to get you what you need...

There was also a Select seat from Buell, and a Euro seat which didn't have the strap, and seems from photos at least, to have a longer flatter rider section.

You can also have a competent shop reshape and cover your stock seat. Being kind of cheap, I cut down and shaped the foam on my own (let me form it as I thought best, instead of trying to explain myself to a seat shop) then had a local shop re-cover it, this has been the most comfortable option I've tried. But I've not been on a Corbin.

Baldwin is run by a member here and he's a sponsor, maybe Loren can mod your seat for more comfort. He's done some slick work on XB saddles.

+1 on wheel bearings through a bearing supply. I found ceramic bearings were available for close to what the dealer would charge to swap mine.

Thanks guys I appreciate it.

Probably will mod the original seat. Was hoping to find an aftermarket one to save the stocker, but no need.

I will post pics as soon as I can. The bike is Black on LH side and Orange on the RH side with white stripe down the center. Pretty sick looking.
Take care

I'll need to go back in with the stock bearing pn, but should be able to in the next week or so and get that for you Fox.

It's not too far from my work so I can stop in Monday prolly, since I have to go in during daylight hours next week.

Del, St Paul HD has some Buell Select S1 seats for CHEAP

$49 and change plus shipping.

I just bought one, at that price I thought it would be nice to have some seating options. Now I'll have stock, modified stock and select seat options for my bike.

Is the Select S1 seat different than the Euro one? I have the Euro and Corbin and $49 is a steal if its not what I already have.

Select and Euro are identical.

The OEM seat on my S1W, advertised as "select", is stamped "Euro" on the tag underneath.

Hmmm. I was thinking "Select" was the same, or similar to the "Pro-series" but I guess I was wrong on that. (I did have a S1 pro-series but found it a bit tall).

I picked up a new stock single in Nebraska coming back from the factory ride last year for about $90. It seemed like it was a pretty good price at the time, but if I'd known these would show up for $50 I certainly would have waited.
