Howdy folks. I traded a 98 Tiger for a 97 Cyclone yesterday. LOVE the bike so far but have some questions.

The vibes while cruising are fine, but at idle I see quadruple. Is there a thread here showing how to check and or replace the rubber isolators (I guess that is what they're called).

Anyone got part #s and a good place to buy them?

Is there an online microfiche for Buells?

Here's a crappy cell pic after I got home. Good pics to follow.

My name is Brent and I'm diggin' my Buell.

I almost forgot. What weight oil do these call for. Notice I didn't ask about brands, I ain't opening that can of worms.

How do I check the oil level on this beast?

If you aren't familiar with Harley powered bikes, the shakes at idle will make you think the dam thing is going to shake apart. That is how these are. If your vibes while in motion are fine there is a good chance that there is nothing wrong with the bike.

Enjoy your new ride. Your GF most certainly will

Welcome to the Family! Nice bike, I love my Cyclone! Like mentioned above idle vibration is completly normal! I kind of like it! It's entertaining the looks you get at stoplights when people look over at your bike and it's vibrating like a big block Chevy and they Say "What is that Thing?" LOL! My advice is to pick up a Service Manual for your model, It will pay for itself! Isolators can be purchased at your local HD Stealership or you can purchase them through one of BadWeb's sponsors AL at American sportbike.com. As for checking them it's really a visual thing, Make sure you check the top and bottom for any rips and tears in the rubber! Side note: Make sure your bike is not running when you check out the front one, The Header gets Extremely Hot in a Matter of Seconds. I have the Burn Scar to prove it! Not my smartest Move!

Thanks for the input fellers. Fortunately I got the work shop manual and another book, but haven't even gotten them out of my back pack yet.

DO NOT leave your bike idling on a smooth surface as it may move backward on its own. if you have a drive that slants down toward the street from your garage, you could have a VERY undesirable event occur....

Oil is 20/50.
Check it be taking off the seat.
Big wing nut underneath, taking off the seat is about 15 second job. The chrome oil filler cap should obvious. The little stick on the inside should just touch the oil. Mine shows about 1mm of oil on the stick, this is FULL. Also need to check oil when fully warmed up.
No online microfiche, but there is an online service manual for the early S1, a lot of it is applicable. Parts book is a likely to be a good investment.
American Sport Bike is good place to start, when looking for parts like Isolators.

Check your front isolator, as a dry and/or cracked one will get a whole lot of shakin' goin' on. There are a couple of good recent old school threads about the isolator, and a new, updated version.
If the original is still in from 1997, it's surely time for a change.
