The bike idles @ 1100 RPM at start up.
After c5 miles of riding the idle increases to 2000 RPM. If I turn it off and restart it the idle returns to 1100 RPM. After riding it a further 5 miles or so it jumps to 2000 RPM again. So far, the furthest I have ridden it with this condition is 16 miles at one time (To/from work.) It has a Race ECM. I understand that this is supposed to be self adjusting. There are no intake leaks on the FI. Do I just need to ride it further (say 50 miles) to get the ECM to reset or am I looking for other problems/solutions? The battery is fully charged. (It's on a tender) and I didn't find any loose grounds etc'. Anyone got any ideas?

Idle speed is not self-adjusting.
When the engine warms up, it will idle faster.
The adjustment knob is found in the left side scoop if you still have the bodywork.
Get it warmed up and turn the idle down to just under 1000. Stuff will rattle less at lights!

The downside to this is that now the idle won't be high enough for a "hands-off" cold start up. You have to just barely crack the throttle open and hold the RPMs under 2000 for like 15 seconds before you can let go.

I think the 900RPM difference a bit much and will be a little tough to compensate by the idle cable. Worth a try though.
You may also want to do a TPS reset if that hasn't been done recently.

If it hasn't been done in a while, you might want to lube and adjust your throttle cables. They could be dragging a bit.

Thanks to all who replied. I got it fixed. I'm not sure what fixed it exactly but I adjusted the idle cable @ both ends, lubed the throttle cables & adjusted them @ the lever, cleaned the airfilter (I know, this has little to do with the idle but I had to take it off to get to the idle cable.)
I also checked that the butterfly opened & closed correctly. I will do a TPS reset when I have more time. The bike now idles @ 1000 RPM and runs like a top.
Thanks again.
