I just got a set of tires from a buddy. He bought them for his M2, but never installed them. Upon closer inspection the Front Tire is a 120-60-17 instead of a 120-70-17.

Is this a Big Deal? I understand that the 70 was probably used to make the front closer to the 170-60-17 Rear's height, and now the front will be about THAT much lower...What are the concerns? (They're PR2's)

I had a shop put tires on my Firebolt and he had ordered a 60 for the front by mistake. I pointed it out when I picked the bike up and he said not to worry and I wouldn't notice the difference.

I did.

The bike felt like crap, way too tippy and twitchy. I rode it about a mile or so home and immediately decided I wanted the correct size tire on it. I called the shop and his repsonse was, "I can't take that tire bike, you already drove on it."

I was leaving for a trip the next day and didn't have a choice buy to buy another tire. Needless to say I also bought all of my own tire mounting equippment after that.

Anyways, end of boring story - bottom line is I'll bet you'll notice the difference. For as long as a PR2 will last (I have them on my S3T), I wouldn't gamble on it.

It will turn in a LOT quicker.

If you like "nervous" handling...go for it. Otherwise, stick to the spec size.
