The individual parts that are likely to be messed with are pretty cheap and widely available, compared to a whole new one.
Could probably use a Sportster Tips page for a list of things to check.

Jayvee, Yea, I still have a "What fits what" book I bought back in the 80's for my 74 Harley. That would be super to have the same thing for the Buell/Sportster thing. I still like things in print.

Look on ebay under Killer Carbs 40mm Keihins he does them up if you give him yours hell make you a superb carb for about 170 bux or if you buy the whole reconditioned carb for about 260 I bought one for mine its fantastic .
