Hi guys. I got my M2 4 months ago, been lurking ever since. I've found a lot of answers here already, thanks for that.

I have a leak from the base of the intake (front) pushrod cover on the rear cylinder. It seems like a real pain to pull everything apart to replace the seal. Has anybody tried hi temp permatex in this area? Any thoughts?

they are a pain in the a. i fought one for a while. the best result i had (as in i never could get it to stop) was just buying the retainer from h.d. it comes with a new seal in it & its cheap. you're gonna have to take the top off though, no gettin around it. now's your chance to update those rocker box gaskets.
oh and i lubed the tube with vasolene and carefully slid it over the tube.
i just had a real hard time getting new seals in the retainer, they were the cometic seals btw

It's not really a pain to pull off the rocker covers to be able to pull the pushrod covers. But as noted, the bottom seals are the pain. I'm not a big fan of the "chewing gum" approach to fixing a leak (permatex or other). So I don't know how that would hold up over time.

If it doesn't seat the first time, throw it away and use a new one.

So, always order a ton of them.
