I've done 800+ miles days when I was younger on my blue S2, with the stock seat.
In '06 I did an 880 mile day on the white S2, with a corbin seat. (not much better)
Albuquerque, to Little Rock.

Debbie and I did an 800+ day on the way to the 25th homecoming on the ULY.

I doubt if I'll do any more long days on a Buell saddle now that I've got the ST1300...

1100 one day on trip with Ferris coming back from N Carolina. Had lost several days to fixing exhaust on his X-1. I was due back at work.Amazing what you can do when you have to!

I've done 800+ but with an Airhawk fitted to a Corbin. The last time I did this my belt snapped five miles from home. It took the recovery service over four hours to get me home!!
It was worth it for the trip to the Scottish Highlands though!!

about 1400 last year going to the S2 gathering. missed 1500/24hrs iron butt by 2 hrs. 1585/26hrs! 3 speeding stops in TX without tickets(85) and a 20 mile backtrack for fuel cost me the time.

I hoping Mike (Buffalobolt) will pipe in.. He looked like he was partying for a week straight without rest when he arrive at the first S2 Gathering... He rode straight through from Buffalo NY to Buena Vista CO.... I cannot remember the miles or the time it took him.

I can't wait to get Ole' Blue up and running so I can try to roll on some miles. The most I ever squeaked out was about 550 on a sportster from Egan, mn to Belle Fouche, SD.

About 550. Thats was going down to Texas for the gathering. Seems to be typical for riding two up for us when trying to get some place. Running out of hours in the day seams to be the biggest factor.

Well...

I've done two 1000 mile days and a 1520 mile day that I never documented for the IBA.

The trip to Buena Vista last year was 1730 miles in 31 hours. So, not really in one day although it was more or less non-stop (fuel, food, roadside repairs).

Like Fireman Jim said, when you know you have somewhere you want to/have to be, it seems to help. That day I was just in "The Zone". Still felt like I'd been on a three day bender though (Looked like it according to Frank!).

Smoke got me to thinking about the Bun-Burner Gold (1500 miles in 24 hours) on the way home from Buena Vista. Was well on the way, until my "unfortunate/unscheduled" stop. But thats an old story....

I keep thinking about that one, but the last couple of 400-600 miles days has me questioning myself...

1156 miles in 19-1/2 hours. Denver CO to Hartford City, IN. We didn't do the documentation for the IBA but I still have all the dated gas receipts.

We were forced by mother nature to either continue or to hold up for a few days in an early winter storm. We had parted company with Team Elves at Bonneville trying to stay ahead of the storm. When we awoke that morning in Denver we had to chip ice from the controls to get the bikes started. We flew, literally like a sail, in wind and snow all the way across the flat part of Colorado and the entire width of Kansas. At the Indiana/Illinois state line we slept for an hour on picnic tables then moved on towards home. 19-1/2 hours later we pulled into my driveway. We heard from the rest of the team later in the week and they had ended up stranded in Wyoming for a few days.

It was an event and a ride to remember. Not that I care to repeat the ride but there's a certain amount of bragging rights that comes with having done it. Next time we'll motel it and ride out the storm with some dark ale and cigars, eh?
