what you guys think about this engine on a tuber? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ewItem&item=170532133819&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:MOT ORS:1123 anyone here has done this engine conversion on a tuber? think about it? or know someone with it? i asked some questions about this engine to the seller and he's telling me to expect 100 hp/85 lb ft. also you can find the same engine on the S&S website... (well 2 different versions) im working on putting a 88" on my M2, but this S&S engine is tempting doesn't it?... how you guys think are the differences between both 88" kit vs 100 ci s&s? one of the coolest details for me is the cam cover "a la thor's hammer"... i love cam covers machined on the edge. so what you guys think? |

100hp and 85 lbs/ft? For 9g's that's laughable...it has to put out more than that. I'd probably just stick to the 88" idea and give NHRS a call. |

Pretty sure there's at least ONE fire breathing Tuber project about to be completed for a LOT less than $9,000 and much better performance than 100/85. |

The S&S 100 inch motor has 1 big advantage over any 88 inch bore kit. It doesn't use stock cases. The weak spot in the stock cases with the spigot holes bored is the pinch bolt area between the cylinders they crack and when they do the cases are scrap. If you do this the best solution is cast iron cylinders and I don't mean iron lined. The S&S motor has a raised deck height so there is more meat between the cylinders. |

in my M2 i have s&s cylinders (4" bore ones with 4.230" length and 3 5/8" stroke) i have the "kit" from S&S that they called for 91" engines. right now the engine is seized (rear piston) so i need to rebuild it. i bought it 3 months ago, the guy who i bought it from said it is a 1354cc. the mechanic says is a 1420cc, and i will now as soon as i have it back and "try" to rebuild it myself. my question is here: if i have the "kit" from s&s what makes my engine a 91"? basically? i know that 16.3cc makes 1 ci so supposedly i either have a 83.06" engine or a 87.11 ci... according to the last owner it was making 90 hp and /90 lb ft... now i need to rebuild it, i swear i rode it for not even 50 miles and blew up... the most expensive "spin" of my life for sure. i need to rebuild it, but i'm kind of lost here... torn between which pistons to get, make it bigger, etc. i have the basics to reuse them: cylinder cases, zippers performance pushrod kit, s&S rods, etc. any suggestions? |
