Anyone have suggestions for the plastic headlamp retainers for S3's. Mine were broken so I bought 3 new Buell ones. They were as brittle as the original ones. Broke as soon as I pushed them into the mount. I would like to find something less fragile. The square hole they fit into are 7/16".

Same problem here. I got a headlight off Ebay that has metal clips. I got lucky. The next one I got had plastic clips. I believe they're put on at the factory(for the light) with a tool. That's how ours were put on at the Ford plant I worked at.

I think you can buy something from the auto parts store that will work in the " HELP" branded area.

I used to work in automotive and all of our plastic clip parts would be stored with some water in a sealed bag during the winter heating months until needed.(Kept them from getting too brittle) Any time I need to remove the headlamp clips, I wrap a wet paper towel around them as best as I can for an hour or so before removing them.I haven't broken one yet in the three times I have removed the headlight. No harm in trying.
