Hi Buellers,

I am the proud owner of a 2000 model X1 with 4000 miles on the clock.

I purchased the bike off a clueless owner who had performed very little maintenance and really only sold it because he could not get it running right.

My first ride on the bike showed the lack of maintenance, there were some bad vibes coming through the pegs and the bike was down on power compared to may last X1.

I have spent the last 2 months working hard on the bike and I have added or replaced:

Forcewinder Intake
Race ECU
Race Exhaust/Header
Front Isolator
Rear Isolators
Billet Front Engine Mount
Full Service (Plugs/Oil/Filter etc)
O2 Sensor
Adjusted Primary Chain to 1/2" on tight spot
Checked Primary Chain Adjuster (New type Installed)
Replaced Crank Oil Seal
Replaced Intake Seals
Replaced Injector O Rings
Reset TPS

I have done many other things not related to the running of the bike (Cosmetic) but I won't go into these for the purpose of this post.

I took the bike for it's first ride and although it's running heaps better it still has some wicked vibes low in the rev range. Once above 2500-3000 it smoothes out but below 3000 it's just plain awful. It seems to have a really bad shake just off idle and when cruising at approx. 2000rpm's. No real vibes in the bars but still very bad through the pegs. The power seems low and it appears to be running bad (ie: slight miss and not "crisp")below 3000rpm's. I have checked over everything and I can't see anything obvious. All tie bars are intact and there are no cracks anywhere. Exhaust is secured well and nothing is touching the frame.....I have done quite alot of searching through posts and checked everything......Still no solutions.

Has anyone experienced similar problems (Low rev range Shake/Vibes)?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have an X1 but an S1 & S3. Check which top isolator you have. I replaced mine not long ago with the Drag Specialties part and it is noticibly stiffer which created vibs at lower rpm that were not as pronounced before. The ones that have "Barry" stamped in are the upgraded part if memory serves me.Its misfired a few times though.

Your primary chain is too tight! FSM is wrong. Take a look at some of the posts on the subject or in the Knowledge vault which is an incredible resource

Ok I will run the Primary at 3/4" as detailed in many other posts. I still think there is more to the vibration then just a stiffer front isolator.

Anyone else with any other advise?

Rev it more?

All my tubers can mix paint under 2500rpm.
