I have a 98' S1W - owners manual - and desire to tweak the suspension.

I'm 6'0 150lbs, and the bike feels a little rigid when cornering - bought the bike and am the third owner, no idea where it is set to.

Any advice on a good starting point and how to actually adjust the shock? Can't find it in the manual I have or anywhere on the web - looking for the shop manual as we speak.

Any advice would be great!

If you have the recall shock, maybe Service Bulletin B-035A SHOCK ABSORBER AND FRONT SHOCK MOUNT is applicable.

I weigh about the same as you and started with factory settings as a baseline. As Dave said, make sure you know which shock you have. The factory setting vary significantly between the original and recall shock (16.5" vs. 14.5"). Don't know why but they do.

Is there somewhere I can look to see if my Buell has had the new shock installed and check other recalls? Closest thing I have to a Buell dealership is the local Harley shop.

Run the VIN with a HD dealership that formerly sold Buells. Buell went through a few phases with the Showa shock recalls. The S1 would have came originally with an exposed spring version.
