I'm about ready for my 3rd set! Went through Dunlop D205's then a set of D208's. 4K so far, and probably 500 more miles before the chords are out. I've got a set of Pilot Road 2's on deck... Anyone gone through 3 sets this year? (Message edited by maddanthony_59 on August 25, 2010) |

3rd set. 2 of them are Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SC2 and the third set were Continental Slicks medium compound. I rode about 1500 miles so far this year.

Yeah, I need both F&R this time. I just scored a set of PR2's for $250 delivered. There's a Kawasaki shop that will put 'em on for $25 /ea if I pull the wheels. Could be interesting, as I have a Lift for the bike, but it does one end or the other. Maybe if I take the front off, prop the forks with Car Stands, and move to the Rear with the lift? It might be a Kodak Moment!!! Or an Insurance Claim... |

Pilot Road 2's on deck... You should get quite a bit of life out of those. I put them on my S3T right before my cross country trip with the expectation that they'd be toast by the end. I've probably got about 5,000 miles on them now and they're a little flat in the center from all the freeways and straight, fast desert raods, but far from being used up. They'll easily last me the rest of this season. They handle fantastic as well. |

continental motions, ill be buying my 2nd set, i think i can go 1.5 sets per year with plenty of tread left when i have them replaced! so far VERY happy over the dunlops, slightly less grip, BUT you dont have to warm them up nearly as much as the dunlops if any at all. right out of the driveway their good to go for WOT runs out of corners or on the highway onramp 1 mile from the house |

4 bikes and I barely put 500 miles since october on any of them! have a kid, you will save a boat load on tires ! as well on gas, oil changes, etc! |

oh, and to get both wheels off without front and rear stands, i use heavy duty ratchet straps and the beams in my garage and just hang the whole bike... ive done it this way for 20 years. its ALOT cheaper to get tires put on if you just bring in the wheels. the best price locally is 120.00 labor to install them when still on the bike and its only 20.00 each if removed from the bike... |

I get 1 front to every 4 rear. I have a continental road attack on the front. The second front i have ever bought. The rear this year i burned up a continental road attack, And a continental race attack endurance. The price of the continentals is way up there at $250 each. I love this brand but this time i got a michelin power pure for $142.00 shipped. And it is a superb tire just as good as the continental. Only the mileage will tell how good it is. But i think the tire tread design is kind of ugly! I have a mag machine at my shop and i can swap a tire in 2 minutes, So it costs me nothing. |

It's not how many tires you go thru because not all tires are created equal. I get one to one and a half seasons out of my Bridgestone Battlax bt45 sport tourers (I average 10,000 miles per set). |

I generally go thru 1 set on each bike a year but a nail ruined this Michelin 160/60-14 with only 4,000 on it thou it had 7,000+ left.....but only lasted 70 seconds doing this including the 15 second intermission...........to catch my breath. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell//messages/40 62/589215.html?1282676291 |

Rode up to BuellFest, ride to work most days, well over 6k miles on the rear Tomahawk I installed last year. After blowing through Dunlops like Dollar hamburgers, I couldn't be happier with the relatively inexpensive Tomahawk. |
