Buellers,
I need your help. I own a 98’ s1W. I was told the following recalls had been done on my bike, but based on my ownership of another 98’ tuber, and what I was able to gather from the knowledge vault section regarding recalls, I don’t believe the recalls have been done.

Below are pictures of my bike, and the items that are supposed to be recall parts. The following recalls were supposed to be completed:

Turn signal flasher 0808
Negative battery cable 0811
Fuel tank retention system 0814 and 0815
Shock eye 0817

I have the newer tank retention system on my other tuber and it does not look like the one pictured below on the s1w. My understanding of the shock eye recall is there is supposed be a whole new system, including shock, and it appears that the shock on my s1w is the one that originally came with it when I bought the bike. The negative battery cable looks to be original to the bike, as the number on the cable is the old number that appears in my manual. I can’t tell if the turn signal flasher is new and it was difficult trying to get the camera in there to take a shot for you guys.

Also, I was told that the updated primary chain tensioner and updated shifter detent plate were installed and now after the install my bike has sort-of a whistle noise coming from the primary. Has this happened to anyone? The sound sounds like the transmission noise you hear from aftermarket motors that you see on American choppers, a sound that I’ve never heard from a sportster based motor’s primary. Thanks in advance!

Can't tell the flasher, bit it looks like nothing was done.

Contact a sponsor, give them your VIN and see if they can tell you for sure. Some one may have reverted back to the OG...

"shock eye recall" It looks to me that you have the updated shock. The original had an exposed spring.

"negative battery cable" I don't know about this one

"turn signal flasher" Unknown about this recall either

"whistle noise coming from the primary" The primary chain is too tight. Loosen it up before we have consequences.

Have a dealership run your VIN for recalls as Spidey suggests. Be sure we're not confusing recalls and Service Bulletins.

That is the updated signal flasher. The old ones were round aluminum like the old chevys had. The recall flashers are the square plastic ones.
