Hello,

I am replacing my tach on my 98 s3 and am wondering if the tach of a 99-02 M2 will work (non-electronic tach). It is part no. Y0501.L. The part no. in my s3 manual is 67329-98y.

It appears the wiring is the same as my S3 tach, just longer wires on the M2, and the M2 has the black bezel as well. Any help would be appreciated

Do now know 100% if it will work electronic wise, IE plug an play.

But It will not fit.

The diameter of the tach and speedo got larger from 98 to 99.

98 being the smaller of the change, so it will not fit in the hole unless the hole is modded.

Some one else may be able to add if the electronics will mesh, I do not see why not as tachs just need a ground, read and back light wire...

Thanks Spidey. I was just as interested in the fitment. Does anyone have a spare laying around they want to send my way?
