I just bought a set of these...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Buell-Performance-M achine-Slotted-Front-and-Rear-Wheel-_W0QQcmdZViewI temQQitemZ230514092948QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fA ccessories

It seems like a decent price for new in the box. They have a few more left if anyone is interested.

They must want to move them at that price.

That's even the nicer looking old style. I guess the pitted ones I thought I'd try to salvage aren't worth it, anymore. Heck, it's barely worth polishing my good ones at that price!

I almost bought a set a few days ago at $499....mainly because I've really been wanting a set and they're brand new.

I'm glad I held out for a few days, though.

I've bought a few things from these guys while i've been putting my S1W together. They're good folks. I think they're trying to get rid of all the buell parts they have on the shelves in the back since harley ended their support of buell.

StPaul HD is who bought out the factory parts. They also routinely buy out other dealers stock. Even at that price a nice profit is being made.

I got mine on ebay, But they came from Stpaul also. this is now my "new" second set. The ones on the bike are going in for a re-polish

I got a full set of the solid style pm wheels for $300.00 and they already had wheel bearings installed also! I just got a new Michelin power pure tire and i am going to put it on the pm wheel. I need a new pulley while i am at it.......Oh and a new belt!

I have purchased a set of wheels, exhaust headers, fork legs and a bunch of other small parts from them. They are top notch and all the stuff is brand new in the box.

I bought a new seat for my S3T last week from them and a set of wheels today. I think I will stop trying to polish out my pitted wheels.

That's a great price, thankfully mine are in decent shape so I am not too tempted.

For those of you who don't have them, you know you will regret not buying at this price - what difference will having spent $300 make one year from now?

Just do it! : ]

I'm trying to talk myself out of buying another set just to keep as spares...

buy some nice adjustable levers, cool mirrors or high quality LED turn signals instead!

Oh - and don't crash or hit that monster pot hole and you won't need them ; )

I just put my led turn signals on last night....k&s industries. The bike came with some pretty nice bar end mirrors.

A big bore kit on the other hand...I've been eye balling one of those.

PM's look nice when they are on, but they are a PAIN to keep clean. So make sure you take a picture with them all shiney so you can look at it when your bike is all dirty from riding.

My PM's are 11 years old, and while they are not perfect, I do not consider them hard to take care of or keep clean.

I use metal polish on them about once a season, and otherwise just clean them when I am cleaning the rest of the bike with anything from orange cleaner, detail spray, or my newest find, a stainless steel polish that we use at work.

it is like Pledge for metal, it has a wax in it so it cleans and shines them, but you need to keep it off the brake rotors - ask me how I know!

That would be Oldog.

And I'm sure he would NOT recommend that you do likewise. Hopefully he'll chime in, but I remember him telling tales of woe about how the clearcoat has cracked and made the rims look worse now than they did before.

HTH,

You could get them powdercoated clear. There are a could different types of clear powder, not sure which one would be best and hopefully prevent cracking. He could have them chemically striped, do a quick re-polish and have them done again or use a clear like eastwoods diamond clear

http://www.eastwood.com/ew-extreme-diamond-clear-8 -oz.html

or Zoop

http://zoopseal.com/

or something along those lines.

All or most OEM automotive wheels are clearcoated and most dont crack.

If i ever go back to a tuber front end and put the PM wheels on my bike, ill probably have them black anodized....

Olddog had his clear coated and water got in between the paint and wheels and made them look like $hit.
