With all the Craig's List fails I thought I would post up a nice Craig's List save.

She will be coming to join the rest of the stable.

Completely stock and very very low miles. She needs a little TLC from sitting.

Cool custom saddle will be one of the first mods of course.

I'm excited. She is a '99 with under 700 miles on the odometer.

Man, 11 years is a long time to keep a bike you don't ride. Good catch!

Man, sweet find! Looks like the rear signal stalks broke from being pushed down under a cover for too long?

Yes, the rear turn signal stalks are broken from the bike being stored with a cover on the bike. Those are one of the minor things to fix. Things to fix or replace are rear turn signals, new battery, new tires, kick stand safety switch. I'm sure there will be a few other rubber components that need replaced. Of course the new front isolator kit will go on.

I'll bet the original old gaskets are pretty crumbly by now, in addition to the isolators. Do you think you'll tear down the engine at all before you get it out on the road, or just do some basics then try 'er out?

I didn't think yellow would look good on the x1. I guess they look awesome no matter what ; )

Chris, I hope gaskets will be okay. IMHO they may be better off since not going through all that many heat/cool cycles.

I have a couple of the new front isolator kits as spares. I figure it will be good prevention to go ahead and install one now. I think the rears will be okay.

I do not plan on breaking into the motor until a leak requires it.

I think you'll definitely have more fun if you just do the minimum (updated tensioner, for example) and ride it until you have to deal with anything that comes up. With that few miles, you're almost still breaking it in!!! Just keep an eye on the iso's for any dry rot.

Very nice.

Takes the "my owner never took me out to play" torch away from my 1,100 mile S1W that I got back in '06.

Tube framed bikes are easier to tie down in a truck bed! Big thumbs up!
