this is the Buell philosophy, this bike is out of this world!
I want it, I'd be willing to sell my XB and my X1 to get this bike and my S1 in my garage! and I'd be happy for ever!!!

What is "Buell Philosophy" about that bike? I see a lot of form over function going on...

I see a tube frame, I see a twin engine with push rods, I see an essential stripped down bike, I see sexiness, I see perfect manifactures, what else shoul I tell you?

Stripped down, tube frame and push rods is not the Buell philosophy, lol. If that were the case I could have slapped a Buell badge on my old '64 Sportster and no one would have known any better.

I see a sexy bike, and likely a well-riding one, but not much in the way of creative engineering, at least to me.

In my opinion, purely from a practical stand point, there is little difference between the Commando and a modern day Triumph Bonneville or Thurxton (of course its almost twice as expensive). It is the heritage that most folks pay for. And I'm willing to bet with the exception of a few outliers (our friend here!), most potential buyers are the ones who owned a Commando750 back when they were young. No surprise that the UK allocation is already sold out.

My Dad & Uncle used to campaign a Norton 750 back in the 60's & 70's. They each had street versions that made pretty short work of the early Honda 750-4. Of course 830cc, 13:1 compression, and all the "Works" valve train & head work didn't make for a very fair fight.

Norton's are Definitely Early Muscle, and this Retro-Rocket is Representing!

Still not a Buell...

That bike is pure sex. The Thruxton and Sport 1000 are also dead sexy. I just like the look of the Commando the best of the three. It looks more "finished".

Given the price, I could have both a Thruxton and a Sport 1000.

As the numbers increase, the prices will decrease.

Compare, though, the 1995 S2 had an MSRP of $11,900.

In inflation adjusted dollars, that's about $19,950.

on, we are comparing the Thruxton and the Norton Commando here.
the Commando might cost double what the Thruxton costs, but it features Ohlins front and rear suspensions, Brembo radial brakes and mast cylinders, carbon wheels and the name of a brand that made the history of the motorcycle scene.
now, in my honest opinion, that bike is absolutely worth that price, as the Thruxton is worth what it costs. you pay for what you get, sometimes a little less, sometimes a little more, but that is.
if I had the money, I'd order that bike today...

Gentlemen look closely at that price when the Erik Buell Racing street bike is released in the near future the price will be very similar.

Yeah, I'm afraid none of the newest offerings from the new Buell will be within the price range of most here.

that is sexy...
in my opinion much cleaner and "stripped" than the Duc and Triumph
I can see why you lust after it, even after seeing you XB again this Thursday.
but...the S1...really. hopefully you get what your looking for in the sale of the XB and just buy the Ohlin's and Brembo's for the S1 and paint it as incredibly as you did the X1. then you'll have something as nice (if not nicer) and completely unique (although you may never run into another Norton around here)

BTW are you gonna ride this Thursday? gimme a call so we can meet up

and for those of you who have never seen any of his bikes...let me just say the pictures do not do them justice...not my style (my bike are or will be flat texture black and blacked out completely) but they always make me drool...his are Victoria Secret supermodels and mine are much more Tomb Raider/Mad Maxx (if thats even possible)

lol Myron you make me laugh!!! thanks for the nice comment... ; )
don't forget I already have full Ohlins suspensions on my S1, front and rear.
this Norton reminds me so close the look of my S1 but there's something different that makes me think that they both would love each other and would share my garage as 2 lovely sisters.
we'll see, for now the Ghost Ride is on sale, but I don't think it'll be easy to find the right one...
I might be able to ride tomorrow, I'll shoot you a text and let you know...
