So I'm riding down the freeway and my injector light comes on, if I clutch it and flip the kill and flip it back, let it go through its cycle and let out the clutch it goes away. It only does it at higher speeds though, could it be my fuel pump is going out and the injectors are struggling or what??? Please help with some insight if you can. |

There is an engine fault. You need to read the codes to know more. Usually, some dumb thing like a loose wire on a sensor or something but you can't know which one til you read the codes. Takes like 2 minutes and then you know where to start looking: http://www.saintjohn.nbcc.nb.ca/Marriott/x1/DDFITr oubleCodes/index.htm |

What part of salt lake are you in?? I am right by the U of U. If you need help i have ecm spy and a trouble code dongle. I don't have a laptop but i could get a copy of ECM spy on a flash drive for ya. I have seen an X1 up by judge high-school?? Is this one yours? If so i have been riding by on purpose hoping to catch you when you are home or at the bike. I wanted to check it out but i didn't want to just be checking out someones bike while they are not there. I have lots of spare parts that we could swap out to rule out the problems if needed. PM me if you would like to. |

Well it gave me code 13 which is the ox senor, I don't think its bad but I have had the tank off a couple times the last few weeks so I might have not connected it firmly. |

Double check that it is tight in the header. Because it grounds through the header. I had one that came loose in the header while riding and it shorted out the ecm pins for the o2 sensor and i had to replace the ECM. I used this one from napa Bosch #12014. If you want to get really cheap you can soak the metal part of the o2 sensor in gasoline overnight and get it pretty clean. But this does not always work, But in a pinch it can get you by. |

Also, make sure you check the black wire coming off of the oxygen sensor. In the past, mine has rubbed up against the header and shorted out through the fried insulation. |

The insulation is still good, I've always been concerned about it melting so I check it pretty often. And I was talking with my stepdad about it last night who's a mechanic and said if its anything like a car 80% of the time its the fuel filter being clogged and it throws the ecm off. And it makes sense because it didn't start tell after I ran out of gas half a block from a gas station. But I'm gonna pull it and make sure its not dirty and ill know its tight then. |

Outa gas can be a problem on older efi bikes, get it going and take it out and allow it to re-learn |
