I'm going to change out my Primary chain, sprockets and clutch(thanks to old_biker3 for the parts)on my 00 X1 what else should i do change while i'm in there?.

I will flick the spring plate before installing the new(ish) clutch,I have the update primary tensioner to install as well.

Indent plate?..is it worth changing if it shows little wear?.Or should i just do it.

What bearings or seals?.

Has any one got more suggestions(part numbers would be helpful too).
Bear in mind its my only transport,so can't be off the road more than a weekend....

It would be my luck to try and get the parts from the local Hd stealer and they'll have to order em in from the US as happened with the front iso...3 weeks wait...then another 3 weeks waiting for the snubber.......

so i want to order ahead if possible.

Thanks.

Interested as well. I need to replace the crankshaft seal and thought I'd do some routine/preventive maintenance while I'm in there.

Crankshaft seal
Clutch
Primary adjustment shoe
Primary Gasket
Shift Shaft Seal

Are you guys really wearing out primary chains and sprockets, never seen any worn out before. Same with the stock clutches, they last forever if you are not abusing them.

Yeah, the updated primary adjuster is a must-do, but the chain?.... not so much.

Its not so much needed, rather that i want to do tensioner update and get rid of spring plate.
I got a 100mile old used clutch and primary drive off Charlie,so thought it'd be a good time to replace all while i'm in there.
Just wait till i do the leaking head gasket...got new pistons and rings if needed,(thanks to charlie again)will do the oil pump gear then as well.

Altho when i checked the chain tension last time it was all ova the place,a massive difference in tight and loose spots....

I should add the bikes had 9 owners,8 in NZ and 1 in the US, so who knows what sort of life its had...................

Might replace the two bearings in the trap-door or at least inspect them close. That's if the X1 even has the trap-door? The bearings are cheap if you don't buy them from the dealer.

Might put sealer around the rubber stator wire grommet that exits the case while your in there.

Might be a good time to replace the starter gasket. Definitely check the torque on the starter bolts.

Clutch cable O-ring
