Does anybody know where a 2000 M2 will be hitting the rev limiter in each gear? I don't have a tach and am just curious.

5800 rpm in stock form.

I get the most out of mine from 3800-
5200 rpm, though it pulls right to the red line, I like to shift prior to that in the spirit of "i don't want to fix this if it breaks"

I don't think cyclones like to rev that high, they are designed for torque and love shor t shifting, plus is sounds cooler to me.

On the dyno, my stock 2K Cyclone maxed out at 134.5 all the way into the rev limiter.
Not sure about the rest of the gears but you could to the math with the above info and the gear ratios from the service manual...

i have the race ignition on,
that has a hard rev limit of 6800,but have never taken it much over 6000 anyway as there seems little point as it dont seem to go any faster,
i believe the stock ignition has a 6200 soft rev limit(i could be wrong on the exact revs but a search will find the exact revs)where it seems like theres a miss fire but will rev on to 6800,
max rpm is 7200 because of piston speed, any more will kill the engine real quick,
a friend of mine never revved his X1 past 5800,just find where max power is and dont go over that,

Hi im in Australia so I can only give you the answer in kilometres per hour but heres what i have as maximum shift speeds 1st-60k(30mph)2nd-100k (55mph) 3rd-130k(75mph) 4th 180k(110mph)thats just a rough translation of the speeds but my speedo has shift marks the guy who owned it before me put on there and thats where there at , seems to be perfect with short shifting not overevving it at those speeds.

If you're bouncing off the rev limiter in every gear, you might not be on the most suitable motorcycle for your use!

Only occasionally do I ever go over 4000 rpm. And I don't exactly 'poke around, I'm usually trying to keep my speed under "Impound" (triple digits.)

Thats true Jayvee their not meant to rev but I think hes on an earlier model like mine with no tacho and just wants an idea of what speeds to shift at ,seems simple to listen to the engine but if youve never owned a big twin or harley engined bike it takes a little bit to work it out ,most people are just advising him on the revs to change at but he cant see the revs.
