Hi Folks! Got just a few days on my M2. I have owned some fun twins over the years like the Hawk NT650GT, Suzuki VX800, etc. With that thought in mind, I always wanted a Buell. Did a ride down the coast the other day after purchase, and a Sunset ride in the hills tonight...LOVE this bike...it even matches my track car nicely. I can't believe these bikes are under 3k for this much FUN. I set budget from 2k to 3k and the only other twin funster that came to mind was a SV650, but the Buell just seemed like so much more rowdy fun for the buck. Love the torque.

QUESTION 1. This will sound terrible, but wife wants a sissy bar. I know Corbin makes a "gunfight and lady" with removeable passenger back rest but any other suggestions for something more affordable that is easily installed, and removed?

QUESTION 2. It has a replacement intake filter with carbon fiber cover....can anybody tell me about it (brand, etc).

Welcome buellbrian the aircleaner might be from airtech. Not too many sissy bars for buell's you'll look high and low and still not find one. But I like your bike. You will find a lot of good info here along with the political banter.

Welcome, and nice color choice

I have the Corbin Gunfighter and Lady with the removable back-rest. I love the seat. Total comfort for both riders. The back-rest removes easy and provides security for P2. I think it looks great although I sometimes long for the tapered fastback look of the stock. I'm not sure I ever want to sit on the stock seat again and my nuts are glad it's gone.

There is no contest, the Corbin is worth the costs. Look for a used one and snatch it up without hesitation.

Thanks Guys, sounds like I need to bite the bullet and get the Corbin. Will start looking around for used one first...if anyone out there has one they are giving up, perhaps in selling their bike, let me know.

I use the Corbin on my bike and have found that I just leave the backrest on the seat and swap back to the stock seat when riding solo (which is most of the time anyway).

Looks like you have the older front disc on that bike, you may want to keep your eyes open for the newer one. The old ones have a tendancy to warp.

The Ventura Luggage Rack system might give the pyschological equivalent as a sissy bar, even though it says don't try to use it as one. The high rack would come up to the middle of her back, she wouldn't feel like she could slip off the back, that's for sure.
I have the Corbin + Lady with the backrest, but I can't use both the high rack and the rest at the same time, they conflict.

Welcome to the Bad Web...

I see an old shock that will need to be updated and I bet you have an old exhaust mount as well. You should look at updating both ASAP. Check your exhaust mounting bolts to see if you've had any snap yet, until you get the updated "Y" mount it's only a matter of time.

Congrats on the M2...you'll love it!!

Thats a bartels air cleaner, not a airtech piece. Its a really nice cleaner, and fairly rare too. Those outer covers on them like to fly off, so watch it.

I wouldnt say the y mount is an immediate need, i have an old hanger on mine, and with 27k miles on it, i havnt snapped any header studs yet.

Enjoy it. When I first bought mine I spent endless hours reading though the KV. There are some great BadWebbers on this site, full of info and willing to help more than you can begin to know. Welcome brother....

I can give you plenty of recommendations when it comes to mods. I've done the tach kit, Buell race kit, shifter mod, Andrews N8 cams, Mikuni HSR42, S3T bars, and don't regret any of them, although I've turned a great all-around bike into a....buellosaurusrex...which has it's down-sides at times. Would I do it again? Of course.

Welcome Brian!! Excellent choice in the M2!! By the way, the Reactor Yellow IS the fastest color!! I follow the same line of thinking as Koz5150 with swapping out the stock seat for the Corbin Gunfight and Lady. Have fun, ride safe, and most of the people here won't steer you wrong.

Beautiful bike! I agree.. it's amazing how fun these bikes are and how little they can be had for... you can't even buy a scooter for the price of a nice used M2. I've owned MANY Buell's and the M2 is still my favorite.
It's a bike that exceeds it's initial expectations.

I noticed you have the old recalled shock. Go to HD and make them replace it with a nice new safe one. If they dont replace it... sue them... it's a manditory safety recall... can you tell I'm still bitter? ; )
