It's been 8 long months since my XB bent a shifter fork and the long slow process of complete-tear-down-rebuild-better-faster began. Realizing the end isn't even in sight, I decided i needed to get another set of wheels to ride in the meantime. I happened on a S1 in Houston for a good deal, but before i could gather the scratch it was gone. However, the fuse within was lit, so i did a nation wide CL search and found this little gem in Cincinnati, just 1150 miles down the road. A few emailed pics, a couple of phone calls, and a deal was made. With the help of Blazin'Buell driving the Ram we made the 2300 mile round trip in 37 hours, and when it was all said and done i now have the Buell i've always wanted.

I'd never even ridden an S1 before i brought it home
11K miles on the clock, build date is July 1997, VIN# 4MZYSXXXXXXXX5034

needless to say, i'm excited

That bike looks familiar! I almost bought that but the owner did not have it back from the detailer until after I bought another S1w. He mentioned the tires needed to be replaced so it was probably best you didn't ride it back home! Your pics are way better then the ones the prior owner had on craigslist, congrats!

Glad to see you're regressing to the world of "real" Buells, James!

Very nice, congrats.

(not that I'm partial to the triple-white bikes or anything...lol)

Cool, so are you the only one in the area with an S1W now? Looks to be pretty stock?

Thanks for the props!

Dean i saw one runnin' around the south side about 7 years ago, but not one since... New tires are here just gotta mount 'em. As far as mods go, from what the PO told me, he got the bike from A.D.Farrow H-D in 2002 with 5k on the clock and hasn't changed a thing on it. I'm not sure about the intake (i'd like a Force winder eventually) and the muffler is a Dynomax of all things, but it runs strong. The front motor mount has been powder coated white. The bike supposedly sat for the better part of '06-'08, hence the shot tires, but all in all, a pretty clean example. The guy really wasn't a Buell guy, he also had a Shadow he preferred. I'd like to research the VIN if possible, and do a couple tasteful mods, but i truly bought the bike to ride, and thats what i plan on doing most with it

White -

That is an awesome bike - my fave of all the Buells.

I have forcewinder w/S&S filter & rain sock that i would trade you for that air cleaner. PM me if you want to do it -

Thanks

The one thing I'd do before too much riding is to change out the primary tensioner for the updated one. Other stuff can wait, and will keep you off the bike for longer.

I have a black forcewinder on ebay as we speak. The bid is only up to $13 but still has 5 days left.

That is pretty. There is one in town for sale by the local indy mech. Rode it today. Going to have a hard time not buying it.
