I have heard from another owner of an X1 that once you install a race ECM, theres no going back to the standard chip. Is this true or just a rumour?
Another is that the 2001 fuel injection system has a bug in it that makes the bike cough and miss fire. I was also told that this is not repairable.
Got any ideas?
Or are these just as I suspect, rumours?

The race ecm.... no going back? ( giggle, snort )nah, thats just a myth. The '01 EFI has most all the bugs worked out, check the knowledge vault for it's oddness's. ( tps reset, letting the computer learn it's setting by running a certain rpm for a certain miles, care & feeding of a O2 sensor ) Nothing really unusual.

However, if you replace the right side air vent on a X-1 with a diggerydoo, 'roo's will follow you into the night. Don't do it.

Both are incorrect as far as I know.

1. As long as you use the stock and race ecms on the same bike, you can swap them all day long. If you try to use either one on a different bike you then have to reset the TPS zero value inside the ECM for that particular bike.

My 99 S3T stumbles a bit, particularly when cold, but I have an unusual setup (K&N Air Filter, Snorkle, Supertrap IDS w/12 discs, M2 cams, Race ECM). If I had a Powercommander or something like it I might be able to dial it in.

Cool Buell.
I can now relax with the comfort of knowing that my info was from an ill-informed source.
In Oz speak a pork pie.
As for the diggerydoo, from what understand roos hate it.
