These stock headers for my 1998 White Lightning came with my bike, which came with Bub pipes installed. I've been thinking of trying to go back to the stock setup. But I noticed the oem headers don't have any exhaust flanges/collars to mount them up to the exhaust studs. So can I purchase some to make these oem headers work or am I screwed?

Im just wondering if he cut the old flanges off, cause I don't see how I could any on this thing.

No problem. You need the flanges and they are held in place by a really large circlip that is held in place by that bump at the end. Your dealer will have them or you could remove them from whatever you are currently using.

Yep. Pull the clip off the headers that are on your bike now (once you have them off the bike, it'll make sense). Slide the flanges off the old headers. Slide them on the new headers. Put the clips on. Install headers.

Hint: use the Screamin' Eagle header gaskets, their tapered design makes fitting them up go much more smoothly.

Thanks gents. Yes I just put the tapered header gaskets from American Sport Bike in before I put these BUB pipes on.

Need a heat sheet for this stock header. Anyone got one they want to sell or trade?
