I broke the plastic threaded part on the choke, 2000 M2. Anyone know if there's a sportster part number that will work? (under fuel tank on left side). |

the part is a harley (spit) part. number is 29238-92A |

If it's threaded, find out what the size and pitch of the hole and make your own! |

DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN IT. When you install it, go as handtight as you can, then put a short-handle wrench on it and give it no more than 1/4 turn to cinch it down. Overtorque is what likes to break them. Ditto for the resistance adjustment nut...it is just plastic, after all... |

There was a very recent thread about this, and some alternatives were discussed. I don't remember if any were practical though. I've broken one also, a bunch of people had. |

I broke it on my Sportster. Super-glued the plastic piece and carefully reinstalled it. Rode with it repaired like this for close to a year. The repaired part is still in my toolbox, just in case. |
