I recently purchased a 98 S1W and the PO mounted the license plate under the seat. I have been looking for a nice bracket to mount a license plate under the light. Rich is selling off a fender eliminator for what we believe is for a X1. Here is Rich's ad: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/21/ 575932.html?1277753003 Rich gave me the following measurements: It measures 7 5/8" between the mount holes, which are 1 1/4" apart. Does anyone know if this will fit a S1W with a single seat tail? I have the bike stored at a friend's house while I am collecting parts for a rebuild. Rich is doing me a favor by holding the piece for me while I find out if it will fit and it will take me a couple of weeks to get time to get up to the bike to do the measurements myself. Any help would be appreciated. | ||

No that will only fit an X1. my Tail light mount/license mount on My S1 has been mangled due to Minivan enema so I am going to design a tail light/licens mount soon but I do not thing soon enough for you LOL If you still have the stock mount for the light you can fab up a quick plate mount out of sheet steel or aluminium... | ||

I have an old Storz plate mount for under the taillight on a solo S1W if you're interested. I finally found an OEM hugger with the plate mount, so I've changed to that. LMK if you're interested and I can take a couple pics. |
