Ok, had a nice long ride today with Buelltours. Swapped between the M2 and his S3.

We both looked at the front mount and iso and agreed that it looked good.

We both also agreed that the motor vibrates as the engine comes down from RPMs.

If I pull the clutch (like coming to a stop) and allow the RPMs to drift down to idle, the motor transmits vibrations into the frame.

Where do I start? Is the motor shaking out of the uniplanar plane? Rear isos? Demon possession?

Thanks.

PS. Tubers are fun!!!

This is what both rear isolators look like:

Isn't the bolt supposed to be in the middle?

They aren't. : |

From what little "i" can see it looks like the ISOLATORS are 47564-86B reto-fitted from the SOFT TAIL ...

The later ISOLATORS are RIGHT SIDE ISOLATOR BUELLschitte PN L0505.9R and LEFT SIDE ISOLATOR BUELLschitte PN L0504.9L ...

Have two riders sit on the bike and have a third look at the isolators, bet you will see them coming apart under weight ...

So it's your diagnosis, Dr. Beullistic, that my rear isos are FUBAR?

Did someone do a swap with the wrong isos?

Well the stock iso's don't place the bolts directly in the center, they will be off-set a bit but should not have drifted all the way up against the frame as yours have.

Not sure what Buellistic is using for diagnosis, I can see what might be the original parts "ears" down and left, in the gap between the frame and the passenger pegs. It's hard to say though.

Either way they may be all used up, it's a likely option on a bike this age, I replaced mine in 2005.

The hole offset on a new Iso measures .17 the one in your pic looks normal.

As the rubber dies out with age the vibes do increase, check the rear head pipe where it goes underneath the frame, you will probably see a shiny spot surrounded with rust where the two have been making contact and if so the Iso's are toast.

If you want to make the bikes handling more responsive I could send you a pair of rear Iso stiffeners.

BTW tubers don't vibrate.....they just throb with enthusiasm.

I didn't see any shiny spot or rust on the frame or any contact on the pipe.

Kneel down on the right hand side of the scoot and rock it on the side stand and watch the up and down movement of the frame verses the swing arm block.

New Iso's will only have slight up and down movement between the swing arm bock and the frame, old ones .........well it'll be quite obvious, this where the Iso stiffeners shine by taking the monkey motion out of the equation .....but at the cost of increased vibes.

I hope you didn't take my "Tubers are fun!" comment out of context.

Coming from XBs I wasn't a fan of Tubers. They were busy and rough compared to the XBs.

Having spent some miles on the M2, I am a born again Tuber man! I just appreciate that there is such a deep knowledge vault for assistance.

I'm just sorry to be the "noob" asking all the dumb questions.
