OK, I broke my gas cap last week ( the plastic parts don't ask how) I took off the tank and drained it to get some parts out that fell in. Put it back on with a new inline filter , put the cap back together as best I could now the bike won't start. I have gas and I put the filter in the right way and a bike that used to start on the first bump now won't. Is the gas cap thing that finicky ? New cap needed?

are you sure the fuel is getting out off the tank ? disconnect the hose on the petcock and put it on "run", gas should come out.
And is the vacuum breaker on top of the gas cap working properly ??

Did you turn the petcock on? Had to ask, because we have all done that lol.

Is that fuel filter restricting too much of the flow?
