I have a weird vibrating noise on my X1 that I can't seem to pin-point. It almost sounds like a bolt that is loose and two metal parts are vibrating against each other. I tore my bike completely down for powder coat this past winter and had the top end gaskets replaced. I've re-tightened all the bolts in the area the noise is coming from. The noise is coming from up front on the right hand side by the voltage regulator.

The bike still rides completely normal, no unusual vibes, just the noise. I've put about 800 miles on it since putting it back together, there were no noises in that time. It doesn't do it at idle, only when giving the bike some gas.

I'm going to double check the exhaust again tonight. It seems to be coming from where the Vance & Hines connects to the header. I left the exhaust mount and front motor mount on the motor when i took it to have the gaskets replaced. I don't know why the guy would have messed with the exhaust mount, but it's a good possibility.

try making the noise again while holding your front brake tight.

I think i've found it but need to tear the vance n hines apart to make sure. All the packing has recently blown out of my exhaust and I'm pretty sure the baffle is rattling inside it now.

My V&H made a horrible metal rattle when it had no packing in it. You may have found the answer..

The rattle didn't start until I started finding fiberglass packing material on my kickstand and swingarm.
