I am wondering if anyone thinks we should keeping the Timing Cover thing going each year. I know the second design was the same as the first (I am not that original) but I will let Spiderman design his if he so chooses.... Something different (other that the timing covers) each year? (if so I would need some ideas) Different Designs or no? Any other thoughts? Just to let everyone know, Shane (Essmjay) makes these each year.... | ||

I vote for other stuff, like derby covers, pushrod covers, lower rockerboxes, headlight lenses  . Could become an S2 tattooing obsession of sorts  . | ||

I'm not too much into the "bling". I thought the timing covers were a good idea. They were simple yet attractive, and a good way to commemorate the event... (Message edited by bartimus on June 03, 2010) | ||

Frank, I have greatly appreciated the timing covers as a souvenir of the events. I have plans to someday frame them along with favorite photos from the trips. I'm for keeping them as part of the event and would be more than happy to purchase them in the future. Loren | ||

I am open to different designs. The design used so far is patterned after the original S2 timing cover. But there is no particular reason why we have to stick with that layout. Shane | ||

OK, we will keep the timing covers. Like Bart said I think they work well. Brad, got you covered... I will get it to you at Homecoming.... (hopefully I will see you in the short time I have there) Joe, really?    I think, with the great S2 Enthusiast on the East coast you should consider a S2 Gathering in WV or NC... If you are ever riding around New Bern NC you could probably find someone to help you. | ||

Oh my good friend Loren... I know you do not really think I am going to tell, do you???? I got good feedback from Mr. 1313 and I think everyone will like this little item. It is just something to celebrate the best Buellers on the planet. (there are rules that come with it) I cannot take full credit for the idea as I have been on many different forums, some motorcycle and some not, and I stole the idea (save the design), with permission of course. The "new thing" will be a one time deal and each S2 rider will receive one in person when I see them. Unfortunately the "new things" did not arrive in time for Homecoming. So myself and Brankin are the only two that have seen them.... The timing covers are great and will continue with each Gathering, as long as I am able and Shane is willing. I think Mr. Spiderman decided to keep the original design of the timing cover save the name of the Gathering and the dates which says a lot about the talents of the person that came up with the design (thanks Shane).... I have no Colorado Timing Covers left save mine and it is not going anywhere. I handed very few out from the Texas Gathering at Homecoming. Mr. Buell received one since there is still a S2 in his garage. I invited him to come to any or all of the Gatherings but did not have a lot of time to talk to him because as you can guess a crowd gathers really quick around him and Court. | ||

Something else that could be neat...and you have the ability to cover four years' worth of gatherings...fairing screens. One on each side of the headlight, one on each side of the taillight. Plan ahead, create a "set"...then issue one a year. (says the guy who has yet to make a gathering) | ||

I am so out of contact, an soooooo bummmmmed. First the Signature Series stuff, now I learn of timing covers. So bummed. Look neat though. Is there a gathering this year? How about next year? Maybe I should replace my steering bearings in case I can eventually make it to one of these gatherings. | ||
