Butch, I sent you a few emails... If you want to do the Finger Lakes in 2013 that will be great. I am very happy that people are stepping up and doing these events. I really did not have any idea that they would go beyond one or two years so this is great news. We have plenty of time and I do not want to steal Spidermans thunder with the UP Gathering coming up next year.... Butch, is 2013 good for you??? (Yes, I notice that I skipped a year but the 2012 is already taken and I will let the organizers of that event announce it when they feel fit. I will see about listing the years and locations. But so far 2011, 2012 and 2013 is taken (if Butch can do 2013) in which case 2014 and beyond is up for grabs. If no one wants to do any after 2013 maybe we will start rotating them back to Colorado, Texas, UP etc... I do not mind being the keeper of the S2 Gathering but keep in mind that it is really up to the people that want to host the event. That is really the key and so far I have been very pleased.. I would really prefer the conversations about future events past the one for 2011 be talked about off the BadWeb. My email is f_skinner at yahoo.com or we can talk on the phone… One of my favorite things is talking to S2 Riders.... The reason I ask this is simple, Spiderman is trying to get his Gathering ready and we really need to concentrate on that one at the moment.... I think that is reasonable... As always I am very open to any ideas, places, etc about future Gatherings but my feeling is when the Gathering is handed over to someone it is their responsibility and I (and everyone else) is out of it unless they ask for help... I think that is the only way to be fair to the people that are stepping up and taking on this challenge. There are really no rules, charter or organizing body of people to decide what is right, where to have it or what to do... That is the sole responsibility of the people that organize each event. I don't understand why this is all hush, hush, Frank. We knew a few weeks after the first gathering that we would be going to Texas, and it was only a few weeks after that announcement, that we found out that Tony would be hosting the 3rd event in Michigan. We managed to stay focused on the Texas event, knowing that the next would be in Michigan. Why is 2012 a secret? I for one, would like to know where the event is being held. there is nothing wrong with being informed, and able to plan ahead... | ||

Just to let everyone know, the person or people that volunteer to put on the event also have the responsibility to post up when they see fit. I see no problem in telling the attendees at the next event where the one after will be BEFORE it is posted up. So why did I want the Finger Lakes event in 2013? Someone had already volunteered for 2012. I hope I did not hurt anyones feelings but that is just one example of why I would like the discussion of future events off the BadWeb. It is their choice when they post up about it but I am thinking about Tony hosting and the UP right now. This event is not an easy task to host. It does not just "fall together" and requires a lot of phone calls, leg work and some cash. The people that volunteer to do this is because they love these bikes, like the people that ride them and want to bring it all together once a year. There is no process, there is no vote and no committee. Maybe a retired disgruntled USAF MSgt should not be the front man. I do not feel as strong about this event or this Buell site as I once did. I do feel that it is important to have one person that can keep all this under control. It does not have to be me but until someone steps up I guess I am it by default.
