so my old casing for my air filter is like falling apart for my x1 so i was wondering if anyone knows of a cheaper way to get rid of that side plastic. or any ideas of how to make an air filter like the forcewinder intake. or a cheap one that i could get. thanks

just buy the k&n filter and cut the snorkel to the ATS sensor hole and drill out the little black "nipple" part and place the sensor there. You will need to plug the 2 larger holes. I used cold water pvc end caps from ACE hardware. I will post a few pics tonight when i get home if you would like.

That is what "i" did. Also remember that the stock bike is tuned for the long factory snorkel, If you cut it down try to remove as little of it as possible I.E. length.
