First, I have to thank Frank for letting me attend last year in Colorado on my Uly. Second, thanks to everyone for letting me attend this one. Sorry I didn't have my bike ready to ride, but I really appreciate all the help and advice. So cool to meet the folks I hadn't met previously and so much fun to watch Karl's labor of love (the mason jars) have their desired effects. Would have been even better with Lynn and Brad in attendance. Great job, Jay and Elena! Homemade pecan pies! Hats off to Butch. What a perfect setting and incredible host. I'm looking forward to riding my S2T to the UP. And thanks for all the pictures!

Great photos! We sure had a good time.

We have made it up to Edmond, OK and will finish making our way home tomorrow. Ran into a little rain at Fort Worth, but it didn't last long and our gear kept us dry. Sounds like rain for the AM here and should hit clear with before we break into Kansas...keeping my fingers crossed.

Even with the accident, I had an awesome time. It was really a pleasure to meet everybody and see some old friends too! Can't wait for next year in the UP!

I almost forgot to mention, I let Brad borrow my helmet to go for a ride once I couldn't do so!

Thanks everyone for posting up all of your pictures of the S2 Gathering! Looks like everyone had a good time! Of course with that group, how could you not?

Ross, I had read your previous posts about the XB parts on the S2, and I wasn't sure if that look would work or not. But, after seeing pictures of your bike here I have to admit that it really comes together well. Sorry to hear about you going down. At least you could hobble away from it, and the bike appears to me mostly cosmetic/fiberglass repairs.

Denny, good to see another S2 join the group. Congrats! I hope to see everyone next year at the UP gathering. If I start now, I may just be ready...

Jack, ride safe my friend. Thank you for the great breakfast... I look forward to pictures of your adventures as you are getting you kicks on route 66..

Denny, I am really pleased that you are now a S2T rider. I bet the Uly will be staying in the garage more and more. Remember, you have to turn the gas on LOL.

Anyone can ride a Uly. Think of it like your Panhead compared to a Evo... Anyone can ride a Evo but how many people do you see riding a Pan and what do you think about that person when you see him or her.

RT, thank you for the Shiner Bock... Great stuff and great lead through the hill country.

Smoke, I did not get your messages until I got about an hour North of Leakey. It was great to see you again.

Eric and Jaci, I cannot think of two better people to spend the last week and a half with.

Ross, I forgot the forks...LOL... No biggy.. I am sure you will have the S2 back in shape in no time. Thanks for keeping me company on that long ride back.

Bart and Debbie... We had a lot of fun, I cannot imagine a S2 gathering without you two.

Stuart, I hope you made it home ok... You looked a little rough when you were loading the bike. Thanks for coming out. It was great to meet you.

Loren and Meribeth.. What a great time. I will not forget what you all volunteered for. I bet it would be the best ever.. Safe Journey home.

Jay and the Texas gang, thanks for hanging out with us and putting this event on. I must say that the easy going nature of Butch and his wife made it much more enjoyable and it was a hoot watching the Texas boys stumble around late at night.

Oh, and by the way Jay, you got to get up a little earlier in the morning to get $20 past me... (ask Denny)

I cannot believe it is over (or how hot it was) but we have next year to look forward to.

Brad, thanks for letting us have a little fun with you.

I hope everyone enjoyed themselves. I know I did. You are the best people that ever threw a leg over a Buell.

If there is a problem, miss-spelling or VIN not correct on the certificates please let me know and I will get another one out to you. Smoke, I will send your poster out soon.

Frank, (and everyone else).
I THROUGHLY enjoyed the gathering. Seriously, thanks for taking me along.
I am very much looking forward to seeing some of you at home coming. Yes, I'll be on the S2, the Uly is staying home..

Ross, what you going to need to get the S2 back where it should be?

A fairing. The tail can be cleaned up pretty easily, and the tank cover and mount are repairable. It'd be a lot less work if I just got a clean fairing and tank cover, but I don't think I'll have the funds to do so. Looks like I'll be practicing my glasswork. The fairing is too far gone to repair though, because I didn't carry the pieces with me like I did the mirror.

We made it back to the land of Oz. We enjoyed everyone's company. The S2 is in need of some TLC after that run. Now to go order that new front isolator and get that hard Drag Specialties part off. My hands are numb from the vibes.

Glad you made it home safe and sound with a broken motor mount. Great to see both of you again...

I went to work today. All I could think about was the great time I had. I know I need to find something else to make a living. I just wish I knew what that is. I think I will start saving for what we talked about Loren... I think it would be a lot of fun...

Oh, No broken motor mount. Just vibes from the hard rubber used on the DS isolator.

I think your idea could turn into a cool gig. With the power of the internet the word of great experiences with a little company can spread all over the world.

Oh and Camp Live Oak in Leakey, TX is a great place to stay in the Texas Hill Country while on a motorcycle trip. See LOL... lots of great google key words there for Butch and Joyce.

I know I rib you about that but I saw the look in your eye as you looked at all the S2s.

Like I said in Texas "It is the difference between someone who rides a Buell and a Buell Enthusiast."

You don't have to look far to find a Buell rider but I would go all the way to Leakey Texas to talk to a Buell Enthusiast.

It was very neet seeing these sign in their real settings.

Yes.............I did the tourists thing.

I wonder if he rode bikes??

The keeper of route 66

I am going to give up on following it all the way back........too many city/town streets and having to double back when I miss a turn.

Glad almost everyone is back home safe and sound.

Ride safe.....Jack

No, Tim. It wasn't a closed petcock, it was a fuel valve that wasn't open... :{ )
Felt pretty f-ing stupid on that one. What's worse, I'm the one that turned it off after firing it up in Charlotte.

Loren and Meribeth, I'm glad y'all made it home safely. And thanks so much for your generous gift!

Hey, Jack. Great pictures! Sure good to have you out in Texas.

Bartimus and Debbie. I can't remember laughing harder lately. Thanks!

And Ross, your enthusiasm was infectious. Glad to have you aboard.

I could go on for days with each of y'all. I'll thank y'all individually a little later.

Eric and Jaci stayed with us last night. Got to spend a very enjoyable day with them today, too. They're enjoying downtown Austin tonight.

I bet Eric and Jaci are having a great time in Austin. Lynn and I do miss them.

Jack, have a safe ride. Post up when you arrive home.

Well, it seems that the rain gods have visited Fountain Colorado in my absence. Yesterday was mow the yard, pull a few weeds and clean out the truck day. I noticed, the first day of my trip to Leakey, that I was missing my retired ID card. No big deal since I have a Civil Service CAC. I found it cleaning out the truck so no trip to get a new one.

I thought a lot about the heat down in Texas (mainly because it was hot yesterday doing yard work) and think a hair cut is in order. I would like to stay a hippy like Gunny Bart but think, with the warm weather it is time to do something drastic. Since I cut about 6 inches in March I might was well do the rest.

Time will tell.....

Jay, I do not think you could have picked a better place. It seems like we were the only patrons of the grounds during our time there. Butch was a lot of fun and kept me and my beer cooler company while waiting for someone to show up....

Do not be surprised if you see Colorado Plates during an up coming event.

Spiderman, your up!!!!
