I've already taken the clutch spring and plates out. Now I want to check/replace the bearing between the Clutch hub and the Clutch shell. How am I supposed to get the main shaft nut off of the clutch hub? Am I supposed to lock the drive sprocket on the belt side of the bike, using a locking bar tool?

yes

you need a fsm if you are going to work on your bike...and a parts manual, as well.

the knowledge vault has many clutch related entries. use it, too

I have the FSM and I've been reading it.

I've already taken the clutch spring and plates out. I guess I'll have to put them back in to loosen the main shaft nut using the locking bar I still need to make. I read here that heating the nut will soften the red locktite.

I don't own all of the tools I need. I still don't have a parts manual. Someday I will have all of these. Till then I make do. A good friend of mine just loaned be the sockets and breaker bar I need for this.
